Hi! Welcome to Rutterkin Cats, the home of Rutterkin Maine Coons.
I love cats, moggy or
pedigree, and have for a long time.
However, my interest in Maine Coons began in earnest in 2000 when I met and
became friends with Heather Horton, who breeds Birmans and Maine Coons under the
prefix “Namrib”. My first Maine
Coon, a red silver neuter boy, was Gr Pr Namrib
Rutterkinboy, aka Winston.
Not the biggest Maine Coon ever, but a lovely gentle lad who
inherited his wonderful temperament from his father, Gr
Ch Noracoon
In September 2002 Heather came with me to see Bill Griffiths’ Shookatoo cats. We returned with Shookatoo Katarina, a striking tortie and white. She produced some lovely kittens including
Ch & Gr Pr
Rutterkin Lonestar McGraw (fantastic name!) a superb red classic tabby
and white boy who was named and is owned by my friends Jan & Clive Haden
(Kirminac Maine Coons). Sadly,
Katarina- or Poppy, as we called her- died when she was just 3 years old, having
abnormally small kidneys, a problem which was not detected until she was very
ill.
After
Poppy came Noracoon Saskat Chewen- Clara to us.
Another tortie and white, but this time a classic tabby.
She is now the matriarch of my brood, ruling over her daughters,
granddaughters and the others that have arrived with an iron paw clad in soft
white fur!
I
love torties and reds, and these are the colours that I breed most of.
I have 2 mingled tortie tabby girls, 2 patched tortie tabbies, a red
tabby, a solid dilute tortie and a tortie silver tabby, all with white.
All the tabbies are the classic pattern.
I also have a silver tabby girl, as silver is such a popular colour.
My neuter boys are Winston and a red and white tabby,
Rutterkin Jacob Shiriki (who actually belongs to
my daughter).
My
other girls, not already mentioned, are:
Ch & Pr
Rutterkin Kiss Me Kate
Rutterkin
Annie Oakley
Linnel Autumn
Breeze
Rutterkin
Skyblue-Pink
Linnel Apache
Clouds
Rutterkin
Princess Pandora
Rutterkin
Silver Firefly
I’ve told my husband that this is it, my full quota of cats (we also have a Bengal and an Oriental, making 12 in all) at least until we lose one……….. However…… …..…if there’s a special kitten born……...............one more wouldn’t make much difference…. ………….would it?
Our Rutterkin Cats can be viewed on the Queens and
Neuters pages.
